the walk over limestonesAguinid Falls is not your ordinary falls where you have to hike up or down a certain area and voila, there's the falls! To appreciate and really experience the falls and all its tiers, you have to climb up several falls and trek over limestones following the water leading up to the fifth tier. Each tier will be labeled so you'll know which level you are until you reach the top. Each tier is unique in its own way -- level 1 is very shallow and cold, perfect for kids; level 2 is not the highest but the most difficult and scariest to climb up to; levels 3 and 4 have deep parts and would allow cliff jumping; and finally level 5 is my favourite where you could climb up behind the falls and just stay there for the rest of your life haha! :)

level 2: falls climbingThe falls in Level 2 is also a pleasant area to swim. Not too shallow, not too deep. But the most exciting part is you can actually climb up the falls to get to the higher tiers of Aguinid. Surprisingly, the stones are far from being slippery. The guides say it's because you're stepping on limestone rocks and they never turn slippery. To add to the safety of climbers, holes in the rocks were made to act as hand/foot holds so it will be nearly impossible for you to slip even without a guide. But of course, you need to make sure you are stepping/holding on to the right hole or end up in an awkward unsafe position and slip. If you are not comfortable doing it alone, you can ask a local guide to help you get to the top. Even with a guide, it was still scary as hell for me. It felt like spelunking (which I really hate!) with rushing water to add to my delight but it was the only way to get to the top so deal with it! :D
