suggested itinerary

Since we wanted to spend time lounging by the beach and swimming, this itinerary is very relaxed. For more than half of the trip, we were in Kwebang Lampas/Puting Buhangin.

Day 1: Kwebang Lampas/Puting Buhangin
  • 9:00 AM - ETD from Manila to Lucena Grand Central Terminal (by bus)
  • 12:00 NN - ETA in Lucena Grand Central Terminal; lunch at Jollibee
  • 2:00 PM - ETD from Lucena Grand Central Terminal to Brgy. Maraw, Padre Burgos (by van)
  • 3:00 PM - ETA in Brgy. Maraw; buy food for camping trip
  • 3:40 PM - ETD from Brgy. Maraw to Kwebang Lampas
  • 4:20 PM - ETA in Kwebang Lampas; free and easy for the rest of the day

Day 2: Kwebang Lampas/Puting Buhangin
  • Entire day was free and easy. We watched the sunrise at 6:30 AM (since it was obstructed by the limestone karsts), spent the entire morning and late afternoon swimming, then watched sunset by the cave they call Kwebang Lampas.

Day 3: Island hopping to Borawan and Dampalitan
  • 6:00 AM - Rise and shine; morning rituals and breakfast
  • 7:00 AM - ETD from Kwebang Lampas to Dampalitan
  • 7:30 AM - ETA in Dampalitan Island; breakfast and free and easy
  • 11:30 AM - Lunch
  • 12:30 PM - ETD from Dampalitan to Borawan
  • 1:00 PM - ETA in Borawan; free and easy
  • 3:00 PM - ETD from Borawan to Brgy. Maraw, Padre Burgos
  • 4:00 PM - ETA in Brgy. Maraw; ride bus
  • 4:15 PM - ETD from Brgy. Maraw to Lucena Grand Central Terminal
  • 5:15 PM - ETA in Lucena Grand Central Terminal
  • 6:00 PM - ETD for Manila
  • 9:30 PM - ETA in Buendia Terminal

Total expense for this trip is roughly P3,150 per person. These expenses are based on 3D2N stay in Kwebang Lampas/Puting Buhangin using a tent rented from Ate Thess. Note that the food is budget pang-matakaw so you can still cut down on cost if you don't eat as much as we do. Hehe! :D

Borawan Island

fees in each island

Based on the published rates per island (as of February 2016), the cheapest to stay in overnight is Dampalitan Island, next is Kwebang Lampas and most expensive is Borawan. • Entrance fee for students/seniors: P115 (day); P180 (overnight)

  • Volleyball: P80/hour
  • Shower: P20/usage (inc. water)

KEY CONTACTS

Our key contact in Padre Burgos was Ate Thess. She owns boats and tents that are rented out to tourists. She also has a sari-sari store so you can buy all the things you need in the island from her. She was also kind enough to lend us utensils for free because we packed too light and did not bring any camping necessities with us. You can contact her at 0921-454-3137.
