Where to Stay in Cagbalete Island:
A List of Beach Resorts in 2023
Follow us on social media
There are only a few resorts on the island and I've listed them here. Our last visit to the island was in 2016 so some of the photos we have are old. I've updated most of them and used some of the resorts' official photos from their social media pages. Most of these resorts are located along the beachfront towards the south side of the island near Sabang port (Cagbalete Port).
Dona Choleng Camping Resort
This was the resort we stayed in when we traveled there in 2016.. At that time, it was the biggest resort in the island and has the most number of rooms. It's a sister resort of the nearby Villa Noe, Villa Cleofa's and Joven's Blue Sea Resort, and it was named after the grand-aunt of the current owners. They have several accommodation options such as rooms, huts/cottages and you can also opt to pitch a tent. You can check my review of the resort here: A Review of Dona Choleng Camping Resort

Villa Noe was constructed as a private vacation home for the Taiño clan but was later opened up to the public in 2012. They offer rooms for solo travelers, couples and even families of up to 8 pax. There are also options for fan rooms and air-conditioned rooms. You can also rent a tent or pitch your own. Activities in the resort include swimming, fishing, hiking and island hopping.

Aguho Playa is owned by a retired Philippine ambassador. The place was built as a private vacation house but was opened up to the public in 2015. Aguho Playa is located in the middle of the resorts row along Lamon Bay in the eastern side of the island. The resort is made up of the main house where there are 4 rooms you can rent. They also have 6 cottages - 3 large ones and 3 smaller ones, which families can rent. Similar to other resorts, guests can also camp in Aguho Playa subject to resort rules.

Joven's Blue Sea Beach Resort offers air-conditioned cottages and fan-cooled nipa huts which are mostly good for 2 pax but can possibly accommodate a bit more. They also have open air huts and guests can also pitch a tent similar to the other resorts in the area. You can check with the resort for their rates as it differs depending on the room, number of pax and season.
Cleofas Cottages is another beachfront resort offering several accommodation options for tourists. They have a big cottage that has two separate fan rooms which can accommodate 35 people. They also have 2 relatively smaller rooms that has bunk beds and can accommodate 15-20 pax. If guests need smaller rooms for smaller groups, they have cheaper mid-sized fan-cooled cottages that can accommodate 8-12 pax. Studio-type rooms and beach cottages are also available for couples or small families with kids. And as with other resorts, camping is also allowed.
