How to Force Change Facebook Name Before 60 Days Limit

But you learned that Facebook has a 60 days limit and now you're stuck and trying to find ways to change Facebook name before 60 days. In this blog post, we'll show you a simple trick (don't really want to say this is a hack) to change your name within that 60-day limit. We will simply ask you to follow the steps given by Facebook in their help desk but we will try and simplify this process as much as we can. Honestly, I haven't been in this situation but have encountered friends and family asking for help on this. If you desperately need a name change and don't want to wait 60 days, the best thing you can do is submit a request to Facebook's support team explaining your situation and requesting an exception to the policy.

To do this, follow these simple instructions below:
  1. I assume you're a Facebook user so go ahead and log-in to your Facebook account
  2. Click on your small profile picture at the top right of your Facebook page to go to your "Account".
  3. In the dropdown that appears, click on "Settings and Privacy", then click on "Settings".
  4. Click on Help in the menu bar found at the bottom of the page.
  5. Enter "How to change name" in the search bar and click on the first help article that will pop up that says "How to change your name on Facebook".
  6. At the bottom of your instructions, click on "Fill out this form" and follow the instructions given.​

As Facebook pages regularly change, the above link I gave may or may not work so it's best to follow the step by step instructions above. 

Once you've submitted your request, Facebook's support team will review it and make a determination about whether or not to grant an exception to the name change policy. Be sure to provide any relevant documentation or explanation for your name change request to help support your case. They would usually require a government-issued ID such as passport, driver's license, etc. Based on my experience, this process would be done within 48 hours but might extend depending on Facebook.

What are the chances that Facebook would still allow me to do this change?


Most people would ask Is there a chance Facebook will allow me to change my name within 60-day limit?
 
Absolutely! As long as it's one of the reasons Facebook identified below:
  1. Language change
  2. Spelling mistake
  3. Change in marital status
  4. Legal name change
  5. Adding a nickname
You can specify other reasons not stated above but it's going to be at the discretion of Facebook if they will allow this change or not. So make sure you have those documents handy in case needed.
