There are several places to stay in Mauban like Queen Margarette Hotel located at the corner of Rizal and Plaridel Streets. This hotel is located along the main road of Barangay Sadsaran, one of the poblacion barangays of Mauban, so you shouldn't be able to miss it.
We, however, stayed in a cheaper inn in Mauban located along Gardiner Street due to budget constraints. We learned about the place from Kuya Noel, the town architect and one of the tourism staff. We arrived in Mauban at around 7:00 PM and when we got to the tourism office, it was already closed for the day. Good thing is Kuya Noel was just about to leave the office and showed us the way to the inn.Â
So if you are looking for a place to stay for the night in Mauban, I highly recommend this place. I've provided more details below plus some of my comments on the place.

directions to the inn with no name
We asked the lady who assisted us to our room for the name of the place but she just mentioned that it is registered under the name Shatzgaw. There is nothing to help you identify the place as it has neither signages nor banners so I suggest you just follow these directions:
|
Once you find the place, go inside the carinderia and inquire about the rooms for rent. The lady in-charge of the room rental business will take you to the second floor where the rooms are. By the way, they also offer the rooms on a weekly/monthly rate if you are staying longer.Â
PRICE PER NIGHT: If you arrive late and just staying overnight, ask them for their 12-hour rate so you could get a discount. The 12-hour rate they offered us were P600 for the non-aircon room and P700 for the aircon room. We rented the place on a Thursday night (non-holiday).

rooms are beyond basic
Although the rooms do not have their own bathrooms, they each had a television set, a wardrobe and a bed of your choice (can be a double deck, a matrimonial or double beds). Not all rooms would have airconditioning but those without have electric fans instead. Beds are well made-up and clean, each with pillows and blankets. Guests are also provided with clean towels and a small bar soap.Â
The bathrooms are also clean with ample supply of water. Each has its own sink and showerhead. There were about 4 bathrooms on the second storey.Â
The second storey also has common living and dining areas for guests.
convenient when it comes to places to eat
|
Downstairs, they have their own carinderia/canteen, which was open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Foods were sold turo-turo style but they also have a big dining area inside with at least 8 tables. For dinner, I had chicken curry with rice for only P50. Breakfast was hotsilog meal for P40. They didn't have hot drinks for sale. Good thing we had our coffee sachets from Padre Burgos so we just requested for hot water. They carinderia has its vending coffee machine if you can settle with that. Apart from Shatzgaw carinderia, there are also other places to eat around town. Mauban also has Big Mak, Umpukan, Pagoda sa Bayan, Kucinero, among others. |
