I ♥ BAGUIO
2022 LIST OF BEST HOTELS IN BAGUIO CITY NEAR SESSION ROAD AND BURNHAM PARK
Location is always key when traveling so if you're staying in Baguio, it will be most convenient to stay near famous tourist spots and eat-out places so you don't have to drive far or take a cab to get to where you need to be. Burnham Park and Session Road (where the famous Baguio Night Market is) are the most iconic spots in Baguio and where most dining establishments are so I highly recommend this area as a home base when you visit.
There are 4 hotel hotspots in this area:
You just have to choose depending on which part you'd like to be near to.
Lower Session Road/Night Market Zone
Session Road was the place-to-be during the 70s, 80s, and 90s, so if you've noticed, this area in Baguio is where most of the old hotels are. It's also where fastfoods are, such as Chowking, KFC, Mcdonald's, and Jollibee, so if you're on a tight budget, this will be the best place for you. There's also a 7-Eleven along Session Road for your quick fixes. If you're also planning to visit during the Panagbenga Festival, the parade passes through Session Road, and you have a higher chance of getting an excellent front seat.
Here are the list of hotels in this area in no particular order:
This hotel is located at the end of the lower area of Session Road, right along Harrison Road, and very near the northern tip of Burnham Park. This hotel has 28 rooms, and you can choose from a Standard Queen, Twin, or Family room.
Hotel Veniz has its own triage in Baguio so the hotel can still approve your stay even if the daily maximum capacity of Baguio is already reached. This hotel is very near Burnham Park and the Baguio Night Market. Several room options are available - Single, Double, Triple, Quadruple and Quintuple.
Hotel Veniz has its own triage in Baguio so you can just go straight to the hotel to submit and show your QTP pass and IDs. This branch of Hotel Veniz is situated along the busy Session Road where it's also near the Night Market and Burnham Park. Similar to its Burnham counterpart, you have the option to choose from Single, Double, Triple and Quadruple rooms. Probably the most important advantage of this hotel is that McDonalds and Jollibee are just downstairs.
Benguet Prime is another hotel located along Session Road, a mere walking distance to other famous tourist spots such as Baguio City market, Baguio Cathedral, Baguio Night Market and Burnham Park. You can choose from their deluxe rooms with balcony, standard twin rooms for 2 and family rooms.
La Brea Inn is another affordable hotel located along Session Road where you can book either a Standard Room for 2, a Deluxe Room for 3, a Dual Queen Room for 4 and a Supreme Room for 5. Don Henrico's, Yellow Cab and Chowking are some fastfoods within the same building to make it eating out convenient for guests.
City Center Hotel is the first business hotel in Baguio City. The facade of the building looks quite old but it still has the basic amenities guests might need e.g. restaurant/cafe and a bar. It's also right across Hotel Veniz and it's located along Session Road so you have other eat-options nearby. They have standard and deluxe rooms for 2-3 pax and a family room that can accommodate up to 5 guests.
Upper Session Road/SM Zone
This zone which is towards Upper Session road and nearer SM Baguio is a great option if you prefer to be a few minutes walk to SM Baguio but still be within a stone's throw away to Session Road and Burnham Park. SM Baguio can offer you a lot more fastfood and restaurant options such as McDonalds, Jollibee, Pizza Hut, Chowking, Kenny Rogers, etc. There's also a Vizco's branch in SM which you shouldn't miss when you're in Baguio. Their strawberry shortcake is a must-try!
Here are the list of hotels in this area in no particular order:
G1Lodge, a fairly new addition to hotels in Baguio is located along Leonard Wood Loop Road, a few steps away from SM Baguio and Upper Session Road. This hotel offers fast internet connection, 24-hour front desk and luggage storage. All rooms have a Smart TV with Netflix and a bathroom with a bidet, which can be quite important to some people. They have twin rooms, queen rooms and quadruple rooms for bigger groups.
Hotel 45 is strategically located in Upper Session road a few minutes walk to tourist destinations like Baguio Cathedral, Baguio public market, Maharlika and Burnham Park. SM Baguio is almost just right across the road. They have matrimonial and twin rooms for 2-3 pax, and family rooms for 4-8 pax. Solo travelers are charged lower/discounted rates for a stay in a matrimonial or twin room.
Casa Vallejo is located along Upper Session Road and just a few minutes walk to SM Baguio. This hotel was established in 1909 and is the oldest hotel in the city. It was also awarded by the Baguio Centennial Commission to be one of the 10 oldest establishments/institutions in Baguio. This iconic hotel is perfect for travelers who appreciate rich history, culture and tradition and old establishments. It has 24 rooms available for guests and you can choose from standard, honeymoon and family rooms. You can also choose if you prefer to have airconditioning or with just an electric fan. Casa Vallejo also houses several businesses such as My Girl Milktea and Coffee, Hillstation, Lagalag, North Haven Spa, Kalay-at Adventures and The Yoga Room.
Bloomfield Hotel is just right beside Hotel 45 along Upper Session Road. It's a 4-5 minutes walk away from SM Baguio. It has one of the most number of room choices I've seen in hotels of this size. You can choose from its different suites located at the upper floors and if you're traveling with family, you can get an Executive Suite which has 2 bedrooms and a living room. If you're on a budget, you can choose to get the deluxe rooms in the lower floors. It also has its own cafe that offers all-day breakfast, coffee and pastries. It's open from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm everyday.
El Cielito Inn is located right in front of BIR Baguio. It's a bit farther away from SM Baguio than the other resorts in this list but is still situated around the area. Its cheapest room is the standard room which costs about P3,100 in 2022. If you are traveling with family, you can get the family rooms for around P6,000 to P8,000 per night.
Victory Liner/Bus Station Zone
The Victory Liner Bus Terminal is the main hub to get to Baguio. There are also other buses that heads for the city but Victory Liner is the most popular. Located in the central business district, the Victory Liner Bus Terminal, as far as I know only has one hotel nearby which is Microtel Wyndham Baguio. This is a great option for those who have a late evening arrival or early morning departure via the public buses.
Kisad Road/Burnham Park Zone
This area in Baguio is probably the one with the most number of hotel choices. It's close to all the action but still offers a little bit of peace and quiet. They're not too far from the park but offer more space and privacy than some of the other hotels in the area. The list below is not exactly across Burnham Park but within a 1-kilometer distance which is still a comfortable walk away of about 10-12 minutes maximum. The location is also convenient because they're just minutes from several restaurants and fast food options.
Here are the list of hotels within this area:
One of the best things about this hotel is they have their own triage which means that after the checkpoint, you may directly proceed to the hotel and skip the lines at the central triage. Another excellent thing about this hotel is that they can accommodate larger groups. They have options for 2, 3, 4 even up to 6 people in a room at budget-friendly rates. This hotel is about 800 meters away from Burnham Park and is about 10-12 minutes walk.
Starwood Hotel is also about 10-12 minutes walk from Burnham and has 57 rooms designed to accommodate 2-3 pax but also bigger groups of 6-8 pax. You can choose from their deluxe rooms, starwood suite, family junior room and family suite. Family suite is the largest of the rooms they offer that can accommodate up to 8 guests. All their rooms has cable TVs, hot and cold shower and air conditioning. You can opt not to use the aircon but if you need to do so, you will be charged P300. Please check with their concierge about this information if needed.
Unlike most hotels in Baguio, I think you'll find Orchard Hotel very photo-worthy to keep your social media accounts busy. Every nook is instragrammable and they also house one of the best Chinese restaurants in Baguio, found at the ground floor of the hotel. This 6-storey building has 62 rooms where you can choose from deluxe economy, supreme, premier and their more expensive loft rooms. I would pick their loft rooms if you're traveling with family.
The Venus Parkview Hotel in Baguio City is a large hotel with 150 rooms. It is located directly across from the well-known Burnham Park and is close to the city's other tourist attractions. Ideally situated close to various shopping centers, restaurants, entertainment venues, and transportation hubs. The hotel provides complimentary breakfast and has freshly refurbished guest rooms, a ballroom with a seating capacity of 1,200 guests, full-service elevators, complimentary WiFi, and a variety of other contemporary facilities.
The Marian Kisad Hotel, originally known as Hotel Kisad, is a simple hotel that's budget-friendly and suitable for families with small pets. Despite its size and simplicity, I've seen good reviews on cleanliness, good ventilation, good customer service and accessibility to the Burnham Park particularly the children's playground. It's also close to a nearby church and very easy to get a cab from. They also have a parking space and provides unlimited coffee to its guests (not sure though if this is still available).
Burnham Suites is the tall building that you see right in front of Burnham Park and quite near the Orchidarium area. They have their own restaurant/cafe, bar/lounge and meeting facilities. There's also Macao Imperial Tea and Shakey's right beside the hotel. They have the deluxe rooms for solo travelers and couples and if you're staying with family, you can choose their deluxe family rooms. If you want to take it up a notch, you can stay in their suite rooms that has a separate living and dining areas.
Located along Legarda Road, Travelite is another mid-priced hotel that's about 5-6 minutes walk from the famous park. They have standard rooms, premium standard rooms, deluxe rooms and triple sharing rooms that you can choose from. Extra person would cost P500 and if you like an extra bed, additional cost is P700 based on 2022 prices.
This hotel is one of the many branches of Eurotel Hotel around the country. This branch is located farther towards the end of Kisad Road but still about 5-6 minutes walk to Burnham Park. The simplest rooms are standard and studio rooms. They have suite rooms if you need something bigger and if you're traveling with family, you can opt to book their family rooms. Eurotel sometimes offer discounts so make sure to check their website before you book.
This budget hotel is about 3-4 minutes walk to Burnham park and is surrounded by numerous eat-out places around the block. They have rooms with matrimonial beds and twin beds so you can let them know which one you need when you book.
This is another budget hotel located about 3-4 minutes walk from Burnham Park. They offer the usual deluxe rooms but they also have 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom suites for bigger families. The hotel is just a stroll away from many restaurants and fastfoods in the area.
This hotel is famous for its themed rooms. They have a wide range of theme choices like Coca-Cola, Ghostbusters, Lego, Disney and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Kids would love it here! Location-wise, it's a 3- to 4-minute walk from Burnham Park. Restaurants/fastfoods are nearby and there's a Good Taste right around the corner.
This hotel is located on top of a hill just a few minutes away from Burnham Park. It's a bit farther away but you have the option to go on foot to the park, or by taxi. They have double and triple-sharing rooms, and you have the option to choose a preferred view - city view, atrium view, or residential view. If you are on a budget, they have rooms with smaller windows and no view.
