Yang-In Sand Bar was the first stop of our Cagbalete island hopping tour. It was definitely my favorite in the island so we had to spend most of our island hopping time here. Took us almost 2 hours roaming around the island and taking photos. And we did take a LOT of photos! When we got off the boat, the waters were shallow...and cold. It was around 10 in the morning, sea was low tide and the sun was already high up. The island was definitely made up of a lot of sand! Everywhere you look, there's white sand, which made it very picture-worthy.  |
At one part of the sandbar, seawater was flowing like a river coming from inland. Young mangroves have started to sprout along this area. One of the tour guides in Dona Choleng mentioned that locals were tasked to plant mangrove trees in Yang-In for a generous fee. :-)
And possibly because of this, one portion of the sandbar towards inland are covered with mangrove trees. But there was one huge mangrove standing right smack in the middle of the sandbar. Not sure if it was intentionally placed there but it has become one of the icons of Cagbalete. Your visit will not be complete without one photo with this mangrove tree. The tour guides actually allow (or even ask) guests to climb the tree if they can and have their pictures taken at the top. |
